I Was a Sari transforms pre-loved Indian saris and deadstock textiles into expressive, handcrafted jewellery. Our tie up fringe chokers are made from discarded sari scraps, giving new life to beautiful fabrics that would otherwise go to waste.

How I am sustainable

I'm not made from virgin fabrics and dyes, so my carbon footprint, pollution and water usage is way lower than other products. Instead, I'm made with circular production methods, from waste fabric which already existed. I turned into an I was a Sari instead of becoming landfill. Now I'm looking forward to my second life, maybe with you.

How to care for me

I was collected from Mumbai markets rather than being newly made, so my exact fabric composition is unknown. Care for me sustainably with hand wash, line drying and cool iron. I can also be machine washed and dry cleaned if I don't come with embroidery or embellishments that might be affected.

How I fit

I'm made from light and silky flowing fabric. There is usually only one of me, in my specific print and In case of garments I come in limited sizes only. Please search by size to find the best fit for you. See our size guide.

About my shipping & returns

I will be shipped to you within 24–48 hours of you placing the order. I will be delivered by DHL or FedEx, which typically takes 4–5 business days.

If you choose Eco Shipping, I will be shipped via Aramex and delivered in approximately 10–12 business days, using a slower, lower-impact shipping method.

You may be levied taxes/customs duty at the time of delivery in certain countries. We collect VAT at checkout for EU orders < €150. To know more click here
